Q   When I am logged in as a limited user in Windows XP does not log any activity? Why?

A   Windows XP and other Windows NT based systems have introduced the concept of file permissions to the Windows world.

Basically, Windows can deny/allow access to files based on which user is logged in. For security reasons, Microsoft locks down the Windows folders, so users cannot modify the system. However, this is where the log files are stored within CYBERsitter.

To enter the commands below into the command prompt in Windows, click on Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt

You must be logged in as an Administrative user on the system for these settings to take effect! You can see if you are an Administrative user in Windows under Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts

cd c:\windows\system32\
echo Y| cacls logs /T /P "Administrators":F
echo Y| cacls logs /C /T /E /G "Users":F
echo Y| cacls logs /C /T /E /G "Power Users":F

Once these commands are entered, limited users will be logged.

Note: The latest version of CYBERsitter 2003 resolves this issue.
